It's become an unwritten law that we have to put up with emotionally
charged stupid over reactions that lack any sense of proportionality
for the case of deep personal tragedy.

Years ago, we would have just said, “Get a grip” but nowadays in our
PC world where nothing terrible must ever happen to anyone we have to
show care and understanding.
