Is it really illegal to display or own gollywogs in Britain?

I have twice seen them displayed in shops in Sussex this year.

And why should it be, surely if this is aimed at racism -is it not more
racist to rule out black dolls in favour of only white ones.

And racism is not a criminal offence.

So why do people have such a hang up on it ?

I can understand when people sterotype and that could well be wrong but I
dont understand why its wrong for a indivdual to have there own prejudices.

Some police have asked for their removal due to a misunderstanding of the
Law.
It's just a group of old women getting offending on behalf of unknown people
without their permission. The type that write to points of view and come
out with
things like - "the sex in the programme was over the top, I watched it for
1hour".
We have gone over the top on political correctness.
If you did get someone who makes a living out of benefits and/or
compensation -
as they usually go together - then they might try to use this as a source of
income.
