Default Judges lift web paedophile (not) orders

Arguably, anyone who is sexually attracted to people under the age of 18 is
a paedophile. Perhaps that should be regarded as normal and acceptable, and
a new word should be invented for those who are sexually attracted to
prepubescent children.

* * Yet it would be legal to have a sexual relationship with a sixteen
year old? Provided you didnt have any "indecent" pictures of them?

Indeed it is.

OED :

He is a paedophile - and anyone else who is sexually attracted to
children is a paedophile.

Are *you* sexually attracted to children?

The difficulty comes with the definition of "children" which changes from
country to country and probably from one generation to another.

Well the word was coined by Krafft-Ebing [
http://www.freewebtown.com/transres/...ing/index.html ] and he
clearly intended it to refer to attraction to "sexually immature"
children, and I don't see why we should invent new words
unnecessarily.

Because we do not work in the times of Krafft-Ebing.

Scientific and technical nomenclature, often takes a newer meaning,
dependent on the social constructs and increased knowledge of the day.
This leaves 'gaps' which need filling with new words, until changes
are required, once again.

Also, what a psychologist means by 'xphile' is not the same as what a
psychiatrist means, let alone the general public/media/law.

Because hes not a Ppaedophile

I thought he said that *he had a sexual preference
for boys aged 11 to 13.

ie he is a paedophile, knows it, and admits it.

That is not the only criterion.

I think it is sufficient - an adult who is sexually attracted to
children is a paedophile.

He was sexually *attracted to children - ergo he is a paedophile.

I have posted the details on this a number of times.

Yes, part of my sexuality is being a MAA.

Dictionaries are not primary sources.

******** - if I want the meaning of a word I will look in the OED.

I will not look on someone's web page for the definition which they
would like it to be.

OED :
A. n. An adult who is sexually attracted to children.

You have said "Child = person under the age of 18, here." - I agree -
and so does the law.

Anybody who is sexually attracted to a child is a paedophile.

Ergo "Anybody who is sexually attracted to a 17-year-old is a
paedophile." ... Yes?

Excellent, a gem always surfaces when one persists.

Technically yes - and it's not actually against the law to be one.

So it's perfectly legal (and approved by the Church of England) to
succumb to one's paedophiliac desires?
