Benefit cheats and Legal Aid by hcjnap@hotmail.co.uk
My tenants who have claiming housing benefit whist earning combined wages of £700 have now been able to secure publicly funded Legal Aid. This is despite that fact that the Legal Services Commission were aware that they were under investigation for benefit fraud. This publicly funded Legal Aid was to fight rent arrears on a small claims track. I have also started proceeedings for repossession....

getting the name of a minor by gormand53@yahoo.co.uk
Ever since I moved onto a council estate a couple of years ago, I've suffered a lot of harassment from teenage yobs (mainly threats of violence, stone-throwing, minor assaults). Throughout this time, they've capitalised on the fact that I can't identify them. It's the kind of estate where there are seldom any adults on the streets to whom I can say "do you know who he is?" Also, as a relative...

Making FOI Request by NOSPAMnet@gmail.com
I belong to a small Angling Association on a river that runs in to the River Clyde in Glasgow and they charge £15 a year . Very little is done about upkeep as far as can be seen, there are no notices on the river and as far as anyone knows there are no water bailiffs . I am presuming that they need to prepare audited accounts so could I make an FOI to see where all the cash goes .? Stuart

PCN - No Waiting by chris.smith@bpclx.net
I have a PCN for parking on double yellow lines. The PCN states that the vehicle was observed from 11:14 to 15:17 but during that time the vehicle was driven away at least once and on its return was not in the same place as its original parking spot. The vehicle is a van and was used to carry tools and equipment to and from the address for a plumbing job so I maintain that it was loading and...

Freedom of information - is this an offense? by tom.harrigan@gmail.com
An FOI request was submitted by the Chair of a certain parish council to a certain district council for all correspondence relating to a proposed conservation area designation; the chair being opposed to the designation. The dossier he was supplied with contained a letter from a villager, countersigned by about 130 villagers in support of conservation area designation, along with signatures,...

Electricity pole going to be outside our window by C
Hi We have just had a visit from Vital Power on behalf of Scottish power saying they are going to put a electricity pole right outside our window which will spoil our view. They say it is part of low ground clearance scheme. This pole will be 2 metres from our house and right in front of an extension we plan to build. I have told this to the planning engineer and his department manager and he is...

Why do UK cops smell by Keith Wilby[_2_]
wrote in message ... They smell for the same reason most people do, because they want to smell their food, flowers, perfume and other lovely fragrances. Now, my question to you is "why do you stink?".

How crap is this lawyer? by No Name
My wife's mother recently lost her husband. Their house was in his name but (sigh), he had no life insurance. A lawyer has successfully transferred the deeds of the house to the surviving wife. The wife approached the mortgage company to update the name on the mortgage and was informed that she would need to remortgage for this to happen. She has been paying the mortgage since her husband's death...

CEOP make a claim. by gregory.carlin@gmail.com
CEOP claimed to me on the telephone that they campaigned against the use of the term 'child pornography' on legal advice ( they actually said that) and that it was not a legislatively defined or enacted or ratified (UN) term. http://www.opsi.gov.uk/ That has a search engine.

The flag part 2 by mogga
Neighbour has been asked to go in to the housing again (following her first call in for the parking/flag issue) - this time she's supposed to have been "calling" her neighbour she fell out with. I assume he's accusing her of being racist again. She's understandably annoyed as she hasn't said anything to him - she's not spoken to him since the parking incident.
