Using Money Claim Online for Small Claims Track - Fees Incurred if Loosing by
Graham Brooker
I submitted a claim online using the HM Court Website and their Money Claim
Online service. It involves suing a firm of solicitors as executor of a
deceased estate for unpaid rent. I am not asking about my case as I believe
it is legally sound and I don't want to discuss it in open forum at this
stage, especially as the firm involved may enjoy reading posts in this ng.
My claim is for...

How to bring a small claims court action? by
Fred Finisterre
Hi,
I need to sue a letting agent who won't return the deposit on a flat they
rented for me. Basically, they have no reason to do this, they just keep
fobbing me off with "we've sent it" or "yes, we'll send it". It's now been a
couple of months, and I have written to them and given them a final deadline
which they missed.
So I guess I need to bring a small claims court action. Can I do this...

Bailiff powers by
Graham
Hi I am looking for advice and hope someone can help me.
I am on benefits and had a visit from the bailiffs today - I owe an
amount of £366 for council tax - he gave me a letter and he said he was
coming back tomorrow to remove goods for that amount - I offered to pay
£5 a week and I can just about afford that - he was not interested and
said unless full payment is made tomorrow he is going to...

Not allowed to carry money around by
gwyddgwyrdd
Hi
It seems we are no longer to be allowed to carry money around. Tony
Blair is saying people should be able to prove that they have not
obtained money they are carrying around unlawfully if they are carrying
more than £1000. This is going too far. While I accept it is not very
often that people carry this amount of money around it is not a crime
to do so- the burden of proof lies with the...

Getting shot of a cowboy builder - how quickly? by

From the sound of it, you have'nt got a surveyor or manager to run the job.
Have you got a contract with the builder?. Again it does'nt sound like it.
If you have then you are on good ground.

Being forced to evacuate homes - what are the Police powers? by
dg
After seeing what went on after the oil storage depot fire, and
previous events where suspected terrorists or gunman is holed up in a
house, I wondered what are the Police powers to force an evacutaion of
nearby homes.
Does a certain series of events have to occur, a defined scenario have
to exist, or is it some arbitrary decision based on health and safety?
What law is broken if one decides...

Poland Booze and Fags by
Allan Tracy
One of my friends returned from Poland at the Weekend and had ten (200)
boxes of fags confiscated by the Customs boys.
Surely, as Poland is now in the EU the same rules should apply as for
France, Germany etc. So long as he could show these fags were for
personal use (he doesn't actually smoke though) what's the problem.
Is this the Customs just applying their own rules like they do through
the...
