How can i accuse someone with doing so ??? by TX2
I have an ongoing argument with an online vendor of computer parts. It is my belief, after I returned a faulty hard drive to this vendor, that they have returned it to the manufacturer, got a replacement, and are sending it 'back' to me, stating no fault was found, and charging me postage for the pleasure!! I want to put that to them, that that is what I reckon they are doing, but in such a...

If a woman with no income (ie supported by husband)receives a fine, would the level of fine be based on her husbands income? If her husband refused to pay it, who would go to jail?

Paedophilia - a question for the group. by anton.t
I have followed the recent discussion in this group,in which there seemed to be a divergence of views over who is, or is not, a paedophile. Here's an interesting question I put to the group: SCENARIO: Two men, clean-cut and conventionally dressed, are each sitting in a park, one in town A the other in town B, they are both smiling and watching children play in a play area. In each seperate case...

CGT query on flat sale - pease help? by Rebecca
OK, so can you advise me? We bought a flat in 1996 for £85,000 (our primary residence then) and re-mortgaged it in 2002 for £175,000 (and have rented it out for the past year - not that anyone needs to know that!). We are now looking to sell it and want to know whethr CGT would be due on the initial or re-mortgaged price? I hope I know the answer...fingers cossed you agree!

Hiding lies behind legal advice privilege by wooks
My opponent (ex employer) made notes of legal advice received from a solicitor that was acting for them in a related matter (i.e they are not the solicitors defending them in my action). I obtained a copy of these notes. They specifically related to what they were planning to do with me but I have been advised that they can't be used as they constitute legal advice and thus are privileged....

EGG plc. - Are They Disregarding the DATA PROTECTION ACT? by Robin Slate
I have been a customer of Egg for many years. On several occasions I've made it clear that I do not want to be sent marketing material by email. I believe this is my right under section 11 of the DPA? Recently, they have been sending loads of special offers for cheap wine, rugby tickets and other stuff to my email address. I wrote to complain and they told me it was 'an isolated incident'...
