Store Detectives - Stop and Search Question by Dizzy Jones
Hi Guys, A few days ago a friend of mine was leaving a department store when she was stopped. The store detective said that he had seen her remove security tags and place them in her pocket(!). He then proceeded to search through her handbag etc to check. Ive a few questions about this. 1. He stopped her after she had left the shop, so she wasnt on the premises.

Adverse Possession? by Harry Bloomfield
Hi, We have just started proceedings to gain Adverse Possession of a tiny piece of local council owned land, at the far end of our existing garden. The land is triangular in shape, 10 yards deep x 40yds wide. The 10 yds tapers down to nothing at the end of the 40yds. Beyond this triangle it is bounded by rail property, which is overgrown with brambles. 'Our' triangle of land, is part of a...

Does anyone here have the phone number for amazon.co.uk customer services handy? I have searched the site and they seem to have removed all references to it. I really need to speak to them as soon as possible to cancel a large order that has been placed using my computer and my CC details, without my permission. Eternally grateful if you could help...

Data Protection for website (quite long) by TimB
Sorry for the length of this post, but I want to cover every situation. I've tried to keep it as brief as possible. I run a website (http://www.stokefolk.com) for the local community, basically providing local news and event reviews. Since people are able to sign up to the website, I'm looking into whether I need to notify under the DPA. I've read the guide...

car accident and insurance details by Paul from Bristol
I am new to this newsgroup. Is it is required in law to make available your vehicle insurance details to the another driver if you are involved in a road traffic accident? Last week I just lightly touched the side of another vehicle. I explained that I was in the trade and could get the paint work done at trade prices. I also said that under the circumstances the insurance companies would deem...

I started off by saying that I didn't want my number recorded on the counter-foil, just as it was about to be written. I was told that a ballot paper could not be issued to me without my number being written in. I said that I was entitled to vote by secret ballot. Good for you. But I'll bet they still have a way of identifying the way you vote (under Tony B.Liars politburo...

Forcing landlord to act by dru
We live in a privately rented apartment and have a problem with damp. Water is dripping from a waste water pipe in the bathroom and is running through the ceiling below. I first alerted the landlord to the problem 3 months ago when I spotted a slight discolouration in the paint. He did nothing. A few weeks later it started to drip after the shower had been used. This time I managed to get...
