I am considering installing a CCTV on the outside of my house and have it trained on my car that is parked in the street as there has been a number of vehicles vandalised in our street. The CCTV will be connected to a VCR. Is there any legal issues here - I live in Scotland. TIA

Road Tax Needing Car Insurance? by BJ
I have read some old posts on this thorny topic, having been refused a tax disc for my wife?s car at the Post Office despite my own car?s policy allowing me to drive my wife?s car. The regulations for those posts may be out of date, esp. one post that quoted a DVLA email. 1) Is it true if the vehicle is parked on the road ?the vehicle? must have an insurance policy. Are 3P claims on a parked car...

Leasehold Question by Paul Taylor
I live in the first floor maisonette of a semi detached house with a downstairs ground floor maisonette. The freeholder owns the ground floor maisonette and the freehold title to the building. I own the first floor with a long term lease. Both properties have long term leases. The Land Registry shows that the ground floor maisonette has a mortgage on it and that the lease title has not been...

Abuses of Speed Cameras by Cuthbert
I saw the debate on alt.uk.law relating to Speed Cameras. I noticed there where some against it and some for it. Well I can see why people are fed up with speeding fines, especially when it seems that the police are overstretched, and are not prioritising other areas of crime such as Burglaries/violent crime. However, I notice that most police forces are "diminishing" their...

Arson to a property that is jointly owned by penf0ld
Hi If the following situation was to occur, what recourse would the other tenant have? A husband and wife jointly own a property, it is jointly insured and jointly mortgaged. The wife tries to leave her husband and he attempts to burn down the house in retaliation. I understand that you cannot commit arson against property belonging to

Can they insist on this? by GasMan
Hi, I used to work at HSBC as a temporary Business Internet Banking (BIB) Customer Support Representative. It was a short term contract. Whilst trying to help the BIB customers it became apparent that a more simple approach would be helpful. So I created www.bibhelp.co.uk for that purpose. It provides simple links to HSBC pages. In reality since being 'let go' by HSBC for this website,...

OK just a little advice required about current divorce proceedings. Neither party is contesting anything as this is a straight forward divorce case (Un-named adultry). Both parties still remain close friends and in daily contact. Statement of children both parties again agree with the papers drawn up. Challenging an election? by Paul D.Smith
Question, do I have any rights as an indivudual to request proof that my UK election ballet has been counted correctly? I ask from my position as a computer programmer who has been studying the discusssions about eletronic voting avidly and now see, with dismay, that thje government is attempting to replace our very visible and accountable paper based system with something that is...
