School 1997 - 2007 by Joe Lee[_3_]
Many a true word is spoken in jest but... Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school. 1977 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up mates. 2007 - Police are called, Armed Response Unit arrives and arrests Johnny and Mark. Mobiles with video of fight confiscated as evidence. They are charged with assault, ASBOs are taken out and both are suspended even though...

Which Is The Most Evil Bank? by Turk182
Is it Barclays. I have heard so many stories first hand from their victims, I imagine it would be hard to discover a worse bank. I developed a friendship with a manager of a major Barclays branch based in the West End of London at one stage of my career. I took him to lunch one day - he sat in from of me with his head in his hands and said "I've got businessman on the phone to me all day long...

Sainsbury's Have Got Your Number by Turk182
I drove into a Sainsbury car park today; there was a great difference to the last occasion. A giant screen was now in front of me as I drove in and my registration number appeared on it, warning me to get out within 3 hours. The branch is on a trading estate, 3 miles from a town. I presume Sainsbury have stored my number somewhere. The first thing that struck me was how clever they are,...

My company has a redundancy consultation (more than 100 being made redundant) period in progress until end of Feb. 2009. They want to serve me a notice during this period. Is this legal or do they have to wait until the end of consultation period before they can do that please?

pelisäännöt by Martti Savolainen

Internet hotel booking exceeds local maximum price by tim.....
It is common in many countries for hotel prices to be regulated, in the sense that the maximum that they may charge for a room has to be displayed (sometimes in the lobby but usually in the room) for the "tourist" to check. I recently made an internet booking (via a generic booking site) for a hotel where the price that was agreed (and that I paid) was significantly in excess of the posted...

The Metropolitan Police & ECHG, English Churches Housing Group 291108The Riverside Group by You For It
The Homophobic Hate campaign by English Churches Housing Group (ECHG),Hammersmith & Fulham Council and The Metropolitan Police is still continuing – at the moment my tormentors think it is acceptable to run a Hate campaign and they do not think they have done anything wrong. The authorities know who I am, but they think it is acceptable for a group of people to run a homophobic hate campaign. I...

Is Damian Green allowed to resume his seat in Parliament during police bail? by DVH
"MM" wrote in message ... What is the position of any MP who has been arrested but not charged? The HoC is in recess for a few days, but will Green be allowed back into the chamber? MM I'd be surprised if he weren't allowed back in.

10 year old boy followed by mum in car! by Roger Thorpe[_2_]
Sorry to bother you boys and girls in uk.legal with our troubles in uk.rec.cycling but.... We're having a little trouble from judith (one of your regulars I believe)who is trolling in our group, and tirelessly picking on some individuals who happen to hold different opinions. This exchange is typical, and comes after a great deal of provocation from him/her. Is this normal and what is the...
