To all legal teams involved in Operation Ore. by Webmanager_CritEst
As instructions come from the legal team, the priorities in the group action(class) become more refined. While all categories are still sought, in particular we now want as top priority convictions (rather than cautions) for incitement rather than cases in which the person has been prosecuted for possession. These are for kick-off to get sure early success. Please, if you can, help us to...

who will own the strawberries in the rental property we are vacating? by RobertL
We move out of our rented house next week. During our three years of tenancy we have planted and cultivated a strawberry patch and this year's crop are just ripening. We plan to leave the patch behind, but it is sad to see that the strawberries will be ripe a few weeks afer we have left. Technically, who owns these strawberries? Robert

Reporting McCanns to the police by Kevin Parkins
A mate of mine mentioned that the McCanns should be reported to the British police for neglect, in leaving their children for half an hour alone whilst going off to a restaurant in Portugal. A question arises. If a complaint is made to the British police about neglect of a child by a British person in a foreign country can that person be charged and prosecuted?

Would I stand a change under age descrimination laws with this? by mike
Just wonder if I may have a case under Age descrimination laws... I'm 57 y.o. The job is at a nearby poly/uni fora technician post. They want just A level qualifications - and I have an appropriate degree. I've worked at this type of job in the past although I must say it was over 20 years ago. I've kept in touch in the subject area and am certainly able to to the job: but I'm not even...

The Metropolitan Police & ECHG, English Churches Housing Group ~||~ The Riverside Group by You For It
The Homophobic Hate campaign by English Churches Housing Group (ECHG), Hammersmith & Fulham Council and The Metropolitan Police is still continuing - at the moment my tormentors think it is acceptable to run a Hate campaign and they do not think they have done anything wrong. The authorities know who I am, but they think it is acceptable for a group of people to run a homophobic hate...

Planning Applications by mike
A local Public House has submitted a planning application to extend the pub. I am concerned that the proper process may not have been followed, and hence some people with an interest may not be aware of the application. Are there any details on-line of the process/statutory obligations which must be followed - eg posting of notices, consulting neighbours, time scales for objections, etc -...

Received someone else sensitive post by Matt
Well basically my wife got the post this morning as I already left for work and she opened it and unknowingly opened a neighbours mail which turned out to be a bank statement. She then said she read it as shes a nosey and the neighbour is question is a bit odd so she wondered what they spend there money on, total lack of regard for privacy. I took the letter round and apologised to be...

Underage Girls by jacky white
I went out tonight to a pub. There were bouncers on the door who were checking ID; In the pub there were a group of very attractive girls who were being chatted up by a group of lads; from appearance of the girls I would say that they were all at least 16 mainly 18. The person who was with me was a teacher who knew the girls. She stated categorically that the girls were all under sixteen -...

Housing benefit without a tenancy document. by Fred
My ex-wife is separating from her present husband! She's had an offer accepted on a house and is currently living there and paying rent. There is no rent book or any formal tenancy agreement. It's been through pure word of mouth and the only evidence she has are of cheques made payable to the landlord / owner. She's written a letter making a claim for Housing Benefit and for Council Tax...

Sold faulty greenhouse. by Lord Turkey Cough
I £8,000 for a greenhouse but when I asked where it was the gypsies said it had 'blow away' because it was made of CO2. But they said it would still trap some heat (probaly) where do I stand legally? Am I entitled to a refund? I think it may be some sort of scam :O(

Access to Land by pyramids.of.mars@googlemail.com
Hi A neighbour of mine recently entered my land to cut their own hedge, which can only be done so from my property. No problem with that - nice tidy hedge, they cleaned up, and the end-result benefits the appearance of my own home. However, what has slightly upset me is that they did so without first asking for permission to access my land. Quite literally, they entered through the driveway,...

Drivers face big cut in drink limit and random tests by pjr
http://society.guardian.co.uk/drugsandalcohol/story/0,,2103805,00.html A spokesman for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents said: "We would be delighted if the drink-drive limit was lowered. Between 50mg and 80mg, you are six times more likely to be involved in a fatal accident than someone with no alcohol. Reducing the limit from 80mg to 50mg would save around 65 lives and 230...

Getting deposit back from letting agency by brett@brettb.com
Hi, I'm trying to get my rental deposit back from a letting agency (pre- tenancy deposit scheme, unfortunately). I've never had problems in the 16 years I've been renting in the past, but this company are very fussy about things, and I get the impression that if I'd spent a month cleaning the place, they'd still have found something to pick up on. I thought I'd left the place in a pretty...

Mobile fish & chip shops by David J
I've often wondered about the legality (ie road-worthiness) of mobile fish & chip shops, which were once quite common. With all that hot oil slopping around inside, plus the stored gas bottles, they would seem to be a bomb in transit should the vehicle be involved in a collision. However, as I haven't seen one for a while, perhaps they have been banned already ....

Energy price match guarantee by MrCheerful
Following a visit from a door to door 'change your energy provider' I started to investigate switching to a different electric provider. Within moments I found that British Gas were offering a click energy tariff that would save me 150 pounds a year. When I looked at my present suppliers site (powergen) I saw that they offered a price match guarantee with British Gas, so I asked to be...
