The Metropolitan Police & ECHG, English Churches Housing Group #,.,# The Riverside Group by You For It
The Homophobic Hate campaign by English Churches Housing Group (ECHG), Hammersmith & Fulham Council and The Metropolitan Police is still continuing - at the moment my tormentors think it is acceptable to run a Hate campaign and they do not think they have done anything wrong. The authorities know who I am, but they think it is acceptable for a group of people to run a homophobic hate...

Donating blood by Joseph Hill
The Blood Service doesn't allow donation from men who have sex with men. If such a man was to lie to the Blood Service and donate anyway, would he be committing a crime, if so, what? Incidentally, the man has not had an STD test and does not know his sexual health status. Otherwise, the man is in good shape and apparent health. He has no reason to believe to the contrary.

Did Big Brother over-react when they threw out Emily for calling Charlie a nigga? by Despairing Brit
Come on now, surely it was obvious that the girls sole reason for being in there was to be evicted for a racist remark so that channel 4 could then take a noble and righteous anti-racist stance in an attempt to correct their failings in the last series? It was a blatant set-up and totally unconvincing as far as I am concerned. "Joe Lee" invalid@noaddress wrote in message...

Redundancy for a director by TC
Can you make a salaried Director redundant, as distinct from simple removal? To what extent do they have employee rights? If so are they still entitled to a tax free settlement? Is the Tax free limit still £30,000? Any help appreciated

Hlp - Should Emergency Council Housing Be Mouldy? by Maria
I've just been to inspect a council flat being offered to a person who is statutory homeless (currently living in an hotel courtesy of council). The walls of the flat are covered in black mould - the homeless person has lung cancer (secondary, from bowel cancer). AIUI if she turns the offer of the flat down, the council have no further duty to them under the Homelessness Act, and yet by the...

Permitted development - when is a repair a rebuilding? by ukzxcvb@yahoo.co.uk
Sorry, second planning question today. The property I'm proposing to buy has a utility room with a major damp problem. It is only fairly small so the cheapest and most effective thing to do is to demolish it and re-build. It's not a listed building, I'm not in a conservation or other "special" area, there are no relevant conditions attached to any previous consents, not close to any boundary...

Is there really a terrorist threat in the UK? by Alasdair
Since the end of the Irish "troubles", there have been one fairly serious bomb plot in London and another lesser one last year. In the great secheme of things, these were two crimes for which people were caught and punished. In my view, these were far less serious though more dramatic than the murders committed by Dr. Shipman. Yet we are being transformed into a repressive police state with...

Employee/ directors rights by TC
My wife is a salaried director of a print company that is not doing well at the moment. She enjoys a decent salary and expenses package that is formalised in a service agreement dated April 1999 using a reputable solictor. She joined the company Feb 91 so has been there 16 years. The notice period is 'at least twelve months written notice' which has not been received. She has a small...

Re-identification of customers by Alasdair
I have been a signatory on a limited company account at Lloyds TSB bank for the past 8 years and I was very surprised when I went into the bank branch today to be asked for my driving licence. Apparently Lloyds are re-identifying their customers periodically. Is it the onset of corporate Alzheimer's Disease? What is the legal justification for this? --

Smoking Canopies by John in Cornwall
Are there any Landlords or Landladies wondering how on earth they are going to cope with the "Smoking ban" ?? The answer of course is to provide a comfortable outside smoking area. These need to be made from a Fire Proof material and look nice. Are you wondering how you can obtain one of these canopies - fully made to measure - and to your exact requirements ?? There are lots of nice colours to...

Bit late for this, Ms Rantzen by Cub Reporter
....since she has been one of the prime causes of the current 'paedo panic', with her founding and plugging of ChildLine (now joined to NSPCC). Have you noticed how they both always stress the sex abuse aspects when it comes to publicity and fundraising, while most of the calls to ChildLine are about other things like bullying? There's also some doubt as to what she actually said on Radio 4,...

Towing a Car by Tom
Hi, Just a quick query here - am I correct in thinking that if a car is towed by another car with a tow-rope it has to be taxed and insured? Reason being I have a banger that might be worth getting back on the road but it wouldn't be worth it if I had to tax/insure it to drive half a mile to my mechanic. Regards

BT Surcharge by Michael Howard
Having just received my BT bill I see I am being charged £4.50 extra now for not using DD. As I usually paid via bank transfer I will now simply do it the old way and send a cheque for payment making them work for their £4.50 If everyone did the same I suspect BT would have to drop the idea Mike
