If there is to be a change to be made in the system by
The Todal
..... we will change the system. (Gordon Brown, in clunking fist mode)
Although at first glance a statement of the bleedin obvious, I think what
it probably means is, "we will take the credit for changing the system".

Senile rapist, 82, avoids prison by
Airmax[_6_]
An 82-year-old rapist with dementia has avoided a jail sentence for an
attack he committed in 1993 because of his diminished mental state.
Verley Gordon was found unfit to enter a plea over the assault on a
66-year-old woman in Brixton, south London.
Instead, jurors at London's Southwark Crown Court were asked to determine
whether or not Gordon "did the act".
The jury found him responsible...

Paying Gas Bills By Credit Card by
fictitiousemail@gmail.com
EDF only appear to allow you to pay bills by Debit Cards and not
Credit Cards .Is this usual among energy firms . I'm intending doing a
balance transfer from one Credit Card to a new 0% one and was
intending to pay the bill on the old card before doing that so it
would be included in the BT .Now I'll need to use some other way of
doing it like using my Abbey debit card and maybe BT'ing something...

bank charges by
Stephen[_3_]
Hello,
Due to a direct debit that went wrong, my account with Alliance &
Leicester (A&L) went £2.67 overdrawn. That's two pounds and sixty
seven pence.
A&L made no effort to contact me and so I did not learn of the debt
until three weeks later. A&L have charged me £5 (five pounds) per day
for being overdrawn. So for being £2.67 overdrawn, I have been charged
£120 (one hundred and twenty pounds).

Terrorist attack in Bombay by
\(used to be\) Fat Sam
I'm guessing that Osama Bin Laden was trying to sort out an overdraft, add
extra channels to his Sky TV package, or defer a payment on his car
insurance.
They redirected his through to a callcentre in India, where the operator
failed completely and repreatedly to comprehend his simple requests.
He lost his rag, and blew he **** out of the place.
Or do you think there could be a simpler, more...

Airline liability for lost luggage by
angeldust77
My partner is currently working on tour in Europe.
He flew out last week, arriving at his destination airport minus his luggage- lost in transit. The loss was registered there & then & a reference number issued. The luggage was located the next day & he arranged for it to be delivered by the airline to the next easily accessible address (being on a tourbus makes this awkward). The luggage was...

Verbal Agreement to purchase/Sell = Binding? by
John Cooper
Hi guys
My first post here and of course it's a plea for some advice!
In August 2008 I agreed to purchase a printing machine. I travelled across country to collect the printer and paid in cash - no problem there.
The seller also had a cutting machine that matches the printer and is a 'must have' for the printer, in other words, I would have had to purchase one. The seller says he's got no use...

Terms OF Endearment By Nursing Staff (in particular) by
Turk182
The National Medical Council is issuing a caution to nursing staff
that in dealing with patients, terms such as 'dearie' and 'love' can
be offensive. At the same time it acknowledges that in some areas of
the country where they form part of everyday speech, a word such as
'pet' I imagine, can feel entirely welcome.
I think the issues are around dignity and vulnerability. Anyone who
is suddenly...

Do customers have contracts with BT? by
Alasdair
In the days of the GPO, telephone "subscribers" did not have a
contract with the GPO. The services were provided under statutory
"Schemes". One could therefore not sue the GPO for breach of contract
as there was no contract.
This regime still applies to Royal Mail's customers.
Does this regime still apply to customers of BT?

Advocate Unfair on Satanic Abuse - September 11, 2003 - new url for
old article AI was very disappointed with the article, "Speak of the
Devil" by Patrick Rucker (9/3/03). I felt that a great deal of
information was left out of the article, to make one side of the
debate (ours) look ridiculous.... Lanning is quoted as an
"authoritative" source by Mr. Rucker. Lanning claims that satanic
