Default item bought via internet problem

can anyone advise me please? I purchased a gold bracelet via the
internet from a reputable source, Bargain Crazy .com, and because it
did not fit my wrist, I contacted them regarding their returns policy,
they arranged for a courier to pick up the item for return, after
waiting 14 days to be refunded, I contacted bargain Crazy only to be
told they had received the package but it did not contain the gold
bracelet, and they are investigating this matter, can you please advise
me how I stand legally with this problem, there were 4 people present
when I packed up this item to be sent off, that is my only proof I did
pack up the item in the package.Thank you beth

You have witnesses - the company has the package and I think we can
assume the courier was working for the company however it is possible
he delivered it without problem and the contents were removed while on
the company's premises.

I would say the company is answerable!

There weer four people present when you placed the item in a bag, there was
the handlers that delivered the package, there was the receivers that
claimed not to have received it. Plus yourself explaining that you actually
bagged it. Thats a lot of moments when the bracelet could have vanished.
