If I was to put on of these in the back of my car would I be breaking the
law?

TIA

I don't think so , no.

It's an offence to impersonate a police officer but this sticker makes no
such claim.

Of course I very much doubt any potential thief would be fooled by it either

Not sure about the legality of the sticker, but has is is only a general
sticker and not purporting to be from any specific Police force, then I
doubt, personally, if you would be breaking any laws.

It would be a little silly having a sticker like that if your dog was a
Poodle, West Island White, Dachsund etc etc etc. or infact there wasn't a
dog in the car.

Umm not that I can see, provided that the sticker was not put in a place
where it would obstruct your view. However it appears to be a pointless
exercise as anyone can look into your car and see that there is no dog. You
may also attract the attention of those who dislike the police and return
to find your car vandalised, which has happened to police officers I work
with who have advertised that they are police officers by having federation
stickers or by leaving fluorescent jackets with police logos on view.

Aguably it might be an offence under section 90 (1) of Police Act 1996,

if used to falsely suggest you are a member of a police force or are a
police constable. What, otherwise would be the purpose in displaying
such a notice ?
It could at least merit a warning or a request that you remove it.

Is that section 90 (2)?
