Hello board.
I'm attending an american non-immigrant visa interview on monday. I have declared that i have convictions / cautions on my record (conviction for drunk and disorderly [age 16] and a caution for possession of a small amount of cannabis [age 21]).
i'm worried that the caution for cannabis will sound the death knell for any chances i have of attending a performance of mahler's 8th in new york next july.
my current plan is to be totally honest with the interviewer - i really don't believe these incidents define me as a person, as my life has changed so much since then -does anyone here have any experience with these interviews / what the U.S's stance is on cautions for minor drug offences?
in any case i'll happily report back here after my interview; i found this site whilst searching for information [i was directed to a thread asking something similar, only in relation to drink driving offences] - anyone else searching for the same key-words will hopefully stumble across this and find it helpful.
thanks for your time...
cheers,
TEDDY
