Default Advice Needed

Hi

I would be 7advice in relation to the following situation
Client A uses a solicitor to assist with her application for Indefinate
Leave to Remain (ILR),
Solicitor compiles evidence to help towards application including sensative
medical information.
Client A subsiquently obtains ILR and is very happy

2 years on Client A's sister (Client B)is now in UK and employs Clients A
solicitor to asssit with her ILR claim.

Solicitor reviews client A's file and leaves it on desk for Client B to read
and subsiquently she is able to read about her sisters complex and
confidential medical problems.

Client A is now not happy that her medical inform, ation has been disclosed
to her sister.

What should Client A do, has she any legal means to get solicitor to take
responsibility for the breach of confidentiality??

Thanks for you help

Sounds like a massive breach of confidentiality. Client A can claim damages
and the solicitor has little option but to apologise and pay a suitable
figure. You can't undo what's been done, though. This sort of thing happens
fairly regularly in the NHS, of course.
