Recovery of goods from warranty repair by
Gary
(reposted because the original neither appeared in the group, nor on the
moderation website)
Some time ago I sent some goods to a company so that they could be
repaired/replaced under the manufacturers warranty. These goods were two
months old and worth around two hundred and fifty pounds.
I had information that the repair was competed on the 24th April and I
hadn't heard back from them about...

Unlikely, since we don't owe anything, and we're the first people to
live in the house, so they can't be chasing someone else either.
The meters aren't actually in the house, but the meter cupboard door

Do I have a diploma? by
Simon
According to most dictionaries a diploma is defined as,
"A document issued by an educational institution, such as a university,
testifying that the recipient has earned a degree or has successfully
completed a particular course of study."
But what would be the definition of a "Course of study".
The reason I ask is academic really, 9 years ago I did 1 year in applied
math. I passed the end of...

The Estate vs Deed of Memorandum by
Andrew
Hello,
My father recently passed away at the beginning of the year after a
long fight with cancer. I have been appointed as the executor of his
will, and as such have a question regarding his estate.
My mother (wife) who survived my father, owned two properties with him.
The first was a simple family home, that was bought as a Joint Tenancy
and as I understand, full ownership passes directly to...

Wrong water meter by
Smolley
My neighbour who is working away and only returns home sporadically, was
complaining of a high water bill from United Utilities for the last period.
He refused to pay until they had sorted it out, but they have decided to
take him to court.
We found the meter number on the bill to be different to the number on the
meter that we checked and identified to be his. This is also consistent with...

Speaking of Safety Belts... by
Simon Dean
Im rather concerned that Im being forced by a hospital to endanger myself.
I've taken three separate trips to and/or from the hospital. When I was
discharged, I was tol that Im 28, my parents have a care, so there's no
chance I can get the hospital to provide the necessary transport to take
me the 20 miles home. So I've had to lie/sit lengthways across the backseat.
The nurse even helped me...

will and inheritance by

Our mother died 18 months ago. Our older
sister is the executor of the will. To date she has not told my younger
sister our I of the contents. We are beginning to suspect that she has spent
any money left in the will. How are we to find out what was in the will and
our remedies in the event. Thanks again

Fire due to faulty dishwasher - advice by

Hi,
Could anyone advise on this ?
2 days ago myself, wife and 2 children were lucky to escape our smoke filled
home when our brand new (2 weeks old) dishwasher caught fire at 2 am. The
fire service extinguished the fire and it has caused considerable damage to
our home.
We are covered by insurance (although an excess applies) but this takes
