Is this likely/legal?
It's quite common on dual carriageways (whether it makes sense is another
issue) - but I have never seen it on a single carriageway road, and I doubt
that it can be done. This means...

I posted the following message on uk.legal however it was recommended
I post it here...
Hi, I am new here so I apologise if I am asking this in the incorrect
group. If I am I would appreciate it if you could point me in the
right direction.
My partner of 10 years has walked out on me and our two children
saying she wants to start a new life. She has said she feels the
children would be better...

SOGA- Dell out of warranty claim, update by
Paul Giverin
A few weeks ago I posted here with regards to a fault with my Dell
laptop and I promised to post again with the outcome.
The laptop was 3 months out of warranty when it developed a fault which
it seems is widespread with this particular model. A plastic tab on one
of the underside "trapdoor" panels is prone to pressing onto a chip on
the motherboard. After a period of time (usually just after 12...

I know the illegality of flashing LEDs on bicycles has been discussed before in

I see that ulm posts are popping up in Google search results on the
following website URL:http://www.ureader.co.uk/group/49-1.aspx.
Such websites that copy the contents of usenet groups and use them to
generate page hits for their own advertising are increasingly common.
Personally I can't stand the fact that information provided for free
is used for such purposes. Is it legal ? Could I add a...

Joint liability and contribution by
ChrisR
Say A, B and C are all alleged to be liable to P for the same damage. P sues
all of them. A thinks the claim has a 50/50 chance of success and agrees to
settle his share by paying 50% of his share (1/6 of the total claim) on
terms which allow P to pursue B and C for their shares. B later goes bust
without paying anything. C fails to defend the proceedings and has judgment
entered against him for...

Wise to tell or not? by
Tony & Debs
Hi,
Its long time since I have posted on here, and it only ever seems to be when
I have problems. Here is another one, I have been working for a company for
the last 3 years and in March this year left to have my baby daughter and
took the 26 weeks paid maternity and decided to take the 26 weeks unpaid,
which was not a problem.
I have recently found out I am pregnant again, a big surprise and...

Wills, inheritance and dependent children. by

My ex-wife is remarrying her partner. They have bought a house together
which has probably exhausted her funds.
I understand they have written will so that the surviving partner can stay
in the house rent free until they either die or they sell the house.
Our children are not very old and currently live with her. Essentially, the
will is likely to deprive them of income to maintain them as...

Bouncing Debit Card by
Alasdair Baxter
A colleague of mine used a company debit card to buy some stock for resale.
He was very angry when the suppliers told him that the card had been
declined "for security reasons" by the bank although there were ample funds
in the account.
As a result of this, his credit and reputation have been badly dented and he
wants substantial compensation.
I remember when I read law a long time ago that...
