Unlike in many countries, we do not have a tradition of using notaries internally. However, for setting up bank accounts abroad, or travelling with minors to USA, notaries need to be used. My question is: are the notary details actually checked? What is stopping someone from buying a stamp in the name of a (ficticious) notary and stamping his/her documentation with such a stamp?
