Stockwell station shooting CCTV footage. by

As an aside to the discussion of this shooting under another thread. I
find it strange that the CCTV footage has not appeared in the media.
The only things that appeared in the media were stills as the police tried
to ID the bombers and their movements.
It appeared very quickly...

Stockwell station shooting CCTV footage. by

Interesting also that there have been no appeals for witnesses, who
may have seen police pursue the man into the station, or down the
escalators.
IIRC (I think I probably do), one of the TV reporters on scene said
at the time that the police outside seemed primarily occupied in
identifying bystanders who had witnessed anything of the incident.

Agreeing access and finances before divorce by
RedHook
My wife and I have decided to separate and eventually divorce. We will
have to sell the family
home as it's not viable to finance our existing home and a new
one(for me).
I'm planning to leave our home as soon as I can find something
suitable to rent. However, I'm loath
To do this before we come to some agreement on access to the children
and a financial settlement.

It appeared very quickly after the bombings, I am sure it would have
appeared very quickly if a police officer had been shot.
Could it be that they would want to wait for the person to be ID'd...

English law demands that some formalities are met before a couple
may marry. If these formalities are missing then a party to the
marriage may seek a decree of nullity to nullify the marriage,
thereby erasing its existence.
Question what are these formalites ?

Small claims transferal of proceedings by
Chris Howells
I started legal action against a company using the online Money Claim
service. The proceedings were transferred from the Northampton Court to
Liverpool County Court since I am based in Liverpool.
The proceedings were then transferred to the Manchester County Court
where the company is based -- I guess they must have requested this.
I understand that since I am taking action against a company...

EU Food Supplements Directive by
Jon
It is with dismay and disbelief that I read that the EU directives regarding
the legislation of vitamins and minerals. Personaly I feel the following
issues are pertinent:
1) Isn't it our human right to be able to choose the substances we
ingest in order to help maintain our chosen lifestyles?
2) Many people use and seek unproven alternatives as modern medicine

Housing Association's right to remove untaxed vehicles from car park by
Sparky
Until recently, I my vehicle was off the road temporarily, parked in my
space in the car park at the back of the Housing Association block of flats
where I live. I received a notice from them asking me about the "abandoned"
vehicle, and saying that they would remove it. I phoned to say that it was
not abandoned, and was told that as it was untaxed (though not parked on the
public highway) they...

EU Food Supplements Directive by
Jamie Nelson
Thought I would start a new thread on this one as the others are getting
hard to follow.
The argument for the directive seems to be that people should not have the
right to choose to take supplements, as supplements in the strengths that
are currently available, have not been proven to be safe, or proven to
improve a persons life in anyway. All anecdotal evidence as to their safety
and benefit...

Volume Calculations by
Geoff Wearmouth
I live in a terraced house built on clay soil.
This is quite easy to work and although houses in this street do not
have cellars, I have been able to excavate a basement under the main
living room measuring approximately 30 cubic metres.
My question is will this cut into the 50 cubic meter permitted
development allowance for extensions?
The literature on allowances only mentions visible...

Contract - Mobile Phone Company by
POP3.demon.co.uk
I was with phone company 'A' for two years (renewed contract annually)
In August last year I moved house and gave them my new details. Something
must have got messed up on their records, because for the next five months
they did not send me a monthly statement automatically. I had to phone every
month, and they assured me they had corrected their records every month.
I wrote to them in January...

Polanski by
GB
The Polanski trial seems to have degenerated into a bunch of wrinklies
reminiscing.
Obviously, this would all have been far better dealt with in private, but
the legal question that I cannot understand is what Polanski is trying to
achieve? I thought that even if it is libellous, he can only claim
compensation if his reputation is damaged by the article. But what I do not
understand is how it is...

Why is aspartame allowed? by
petesouthwest@hotmail.com
Hi
I was reading with interest the thread on the EU directive on food
supplements.
Supposedly this is all about our safety and protection from these
'potentially' dangerous products.
Presumably the purpose of 'The Law' is to protect our rights and
our safety when threatened from third parties?

When considering to marry in the uk ..it has said that
giving notice of marriage you will both be required to provide proof of
your age and identity by way of birth certificate, passport etc.
question if you are not able to produce such documents but the service still
happens* ( meaning the couple are married ) (Church of England service).
(And only one of the couple produced the required...

Redundacy by

Hi folks,
My wife has just been made redundant in very dubious circumstances and
at very short notice, which I am not allowed to talk about under her
proposed agreement with her employer.
One of the sections of the contract states that she needs to get an
advisor and they will pay up to =A3150 + VAT, does anybody know as

I assumed I needed a "Green Card" for this yet my broker (via phone)

said a cover note would suffice.

Data Protection Again!! by

My son made a subject access request under DPA 3 weeks ago. We have also now
sent off 10 quid to pay for this.
I have now just received an email telling me that I (not he) can make an
appointment to view the file - but not make copies.
I don't want to view it, I want a copy so I can refer to it in future, and I
have paid for that. I don't want to waste my time going round, so I would
prefer the...

Child Support Agency overturning Matrimonial Settlement by
David B
In 1989 I had a divorce, part of that was the matrimonial settlement
which granted my partner £10,000 in return for me getting minimum
maintenance of 5p per child per year. This was supposed to be a way
of giving us both a clean break.
Then she contacted the Child Support Agency which had just set up and
they said they had the power to overturn Matrimonial Settlements made
before they were...

Employment Offer Withdrawn by
emytjls
I was recently offered and accepted a job; contracts were exchanged.
Three weeks before I was due to start I received a letter stating that
due to "organisational changes" my job offer had been withdrawn. Under
my contract during my first 6 months of employment the employer was
only required to give me a week's notice. They have honoured this and
paid me a week's wages. However I had already...
