Gathering evidence DWP style. by

The DWP only needs "balance of probabilities" to stop payment - it's a

Insurance anmd freeholder problems by
Lemmie
My leasehold flat is one of two in a converted house. The freeholder=20
has, according to the lease, the usual responsibility for maintenance,=20
repair and insurance, with the leaseholders being responsible for the
cost. She's also been imo extremely incompetent as a freeholder=20
throughout. For example, when I've asked her to do necessary work on=20

Gatso ticket by
Andyf
My wife had a courtesy car on December 4th whilst hers was in the garage for
a day. On Jan 19th the garage called to say they'd just received a notice
for her speeding in motorway roadworks (50 in 40 limit) in the car, and were
giving the police her details. I guess she'll soon receive her N.I.P.
Given that the garage only received it 5 weeks later, is it still valid?
Doesn't the first N.I.P...

Employment Law - Rights after Appeal by
Adelphi
I have just gone through an appeal process for interview. My organisation is
being re-organised and I applied for my existing job and was un-successful.
I have been in post for five years and have never been told in supervision
or the one appraisal I have had, that I am not working to the standard. What
I do have is plenty of evidence to say that I am extremely professional and
working to the...

Good idea to contest speeding conviction? by
Luke Briner
I have been given a fixed penalty notice from one of our friends, the Gatso
camera. They are proposing a 3 point endorsement and about £70 fine for
travelling at 40 in a 30. I have a problem with this in several ways
although I accept I was travelling at 40 in a 30 so I admit breaking the
letter of the law. The salient points a

Road clousure by
Stephen Maudsley
Over the last few years the amount of time a road is closed after an
accident has increased, apparently for more detailed measurements around the
accident.
Is this because there are more stringent demands on evidence? And is there
any evidence that this has resulted in any improvements (in anything...).

What is the legal definition of a 'Copy' under British Law? by
Respect 4 The Law
I know this sounds basic, but I am having real trouble with this.
My instincts tell me that a 'copy' is by definition just that, a 'copy'
of something else, i.e. 'not an original'.
The Oxford English Dictionary seems to agree with me.
Does anyone know of any case law or judgement in the UK where this has
been set down and defined?

OTish: Office politics by

Hi all. I'm not very good when it comes to people & politics and am not
quite sure where else to ask this. I figure you all must be pretty good
when it comes to guile and wit, so I thought to try asking here.
Basically I'm having problems with some secretaries at my place of
work. The way the place is set up, 99% of the staff share the same
secretaries, with only the really big guys having their...

Further details of the case are provided below:
The employment was long standing (approx 25 years) and the contract of

Most cases are legally aided, funding being granted on the advice of the
