Mobiles in cars (deterent not working) by
scuffler
few drivers seem to be bothered about the latest fines and points on
licence .
things are still as bad as ever with trade vehicles the worst . white
van man !
looks like the fines will need to be raised to 500+ pounds for using a
phone whilst driving a vehicle .
the fine will have to be very high to stop this problem + points on
licence

Tenancy deposits and interest by
JM
Hi,
I've just handed back the keys to a property I've been renting for the past
2 and a half years. The Shelter website suggests that I should receive
interest on the deposit, but I suspect that the letting agent will try and
deny that they need to pay this to me.
The tenancy agreement doesn't say anything about interest in respect of
deposits.

Hello group,
Some of you might recall my posts of late.
Just to recap, I cared for my mother for ten years. I have lived at
home all of my life (32 years), basically I left college, got a job
and had to put my life on hold to look after my mother. My mother
died and left a will she wrote fifteen years ago. The will stated
that her house (also...

Question over medical records by
Mabon Dane
A friend of mine wishes to track down and obtain a copy of their
medical records. My friend asks if there is any people who have had
any issues over obtaining and getting copies of their medical records
and if there is any legal means existing that enables/denies an
individual the right to get a copy of their medical records.

Advice on the Internet by
D.M. Procida
If I offer advice on the Internet (via news or web), in which of the
following cases might I be held liable:
if the advice were mistaken, and someone got hurt
if the advice were malicious, and someone got hurt
if the advice were intended to trick someone into doing something that
would benefit me at their expense?

Email signatures by
Rob S
Hi,
Can someone point me towards the relevant law regarding email - especially what,
if any, disclaimer should be attached to each email emanating from my company?
I must admit to a dislike of those huge waivers, generally longer than the
contents, after many emails I receive, but would like to know if there is much
point in our (small) company using them....and if so is there some nice...

House purchase: vendor leaves 10 years of junk behind in garage by
bruce_phipps@my-deja.com
Moved into a house yesterday.
The vendor left a load of junk in the garage -- I can't get my car in!
I have asked the estate agent to contact the vendor and get them to
shift it.
Is this something I should get the conveyancer involved with? Or does
their involvement end once the money is paid and keys handed over?

Divorce by
Mr Pink
I am a US national living in the UK and am looking for some advice on
divorces.I understand there are basically do-it-youself divorces here and
no solicitor needs to be involved.
If you have children, but custody has already been decided. Is there a need
to have a solicitor?
The local solicitor's has a legal executive who will assist in doing the
forms and filing them for a fee.( I know I could...

Mobile phone top-ups by
Mogweed
I only use a mobile phone occasionally and a £10 top-up can last about 8 or
9 weeks. The battery died on my old handset and I was told a new one would
be £20 or, "For just £10 more, you could have a brand-new all-singing,
all-dancing handset on 3 (when bought with £15 of airtime)". So I went for
the new handset - who wouldn't?
It was only when I got it home and was charging the battery and...

£80 penalties fort Xmas by

So there is to be a crack down on anti social behaviour over the Christmas

social manner, and being sick in the street.
? could the licensee be fined similarly for letting them get into that state
? what if you are just ill sick and not intoxicated sick. How will the
police distinguish. I could have a glass of wine with my...

receipt of undisclosed income. I've tried to phone to find out about

In the meantime, what's the protocol here? Do they have to tell me

import tax on ebay by
Johnboy
I was wondering. Having purchased DVDs on ebay, I paid the seller £20 to
ship from Beijing. Should I then be liable for import tax of £19, or should
the seller have covered this?
There was no mention of any tax in the auction
thanks in advance
