Copyright, designs and patents and all that ilk ... by
Periander.
Seriously, I've just had what may turn out to be a great idea which I'm
going to do some work on. In essence there's very little new in it in, that
is it draws on a series of existing well known technologies, what's new and
without any doubt whatsoever is the way the technologies are combined on a
very large scale industrial level for a unique application.
What's the best way of legally...

Access to a Legal Database by
News Admin
Hi,
Is there anyone with access to a legal database, like WestLaw for instance,
who can help with locating a case or two?
I'm looking for any case references relating specifically to Internet-based
copyright infringement which (and this is the important bit) is post 31
October 2003 such that the Copyright & Related Rights Regulations 2003
apply. Unfortunately I don't have any online access and...

Council Tax arrears by
Me
Can someone give me some advice?
I've recently received a bill for Council Tax arrears dating back to the
year 2000. The thing is is that i'm sure that the bills were paid. The
last few years i've been renting (both after and before i was living at
the property in question). Now, I'm not sure I have any proof that the
bills were paid, but me and the three people that I wasliving with at
the time...

And after a few weeks of this you may indeed find that they might buy
you a pint and laugh about it.

overtime and sickness by
Lawrence Zarb
I was due to do a days overtime last week but due to sickness I could
not attend. Now my company wants me to put in a self certified sick
note.
This seems totally wrong as they want tologme for a days sickness even
though it was overtime and nothing was claimed.
What is the legal position here?

Credit cards & work breaks by
mike
Hello, I work shifts in a restaurant, and got a few questions.
1) If there's any mistakes with the credit cards of my costumers, can
my employer force me to pay for them? What if the card is stolen?
What if I made a mistake with a credit card? I heard something about
a "maximum of 10% deduction of your pay slip" rule? Any pointers to
the relevant documents?
2) Should my work provide me with...

libel, or spiteful? by

So there have been claims over the weekend (or a smear campaign( that the home

could Blunket sue for libel? If the claims were not true (as detailed by some
news papers) that he had given Mrs Quinn security tip-offs, free rail
tickets, sought to fast-track the

Emotive subject header maybe, but basically true. Mainly because of the way

Boiler trouble.... by
Gary
Bought a new house four years ago this Christmas which is fitted with a
Potterton Suprima 40 boiler. This has started (according to the manual
for the device) going into 'lockout' which necessitates a press of the
reset button in order to restart the boiler, and sometimes this won't
work. Obviously at this time of year, this is a concern!
Some googling reveals many similar stories, and anecdotal...
