"Unattended" vehicle in private car park - course of action? by
Trust No One®
Hi Folks,
Over the last 3 weeks a vehicle has been parked in one of my 2 allocated car
parking spaces in the block of flats were I live. I thought initially that
it was in connection with my neighbour as we have an agreement where they
park from time to time (often for longish periods) when needed.
My neighbours have advised me that the car is nothing to do with them, so it
looks as if some...

Website of whistleblowing websites by
D.M. Procida
I'm planning to set up a small website with links to other websites
which blow the whistle on illegal or unscrupulous practices by
companies, government departments, public bodies, universities, and
other organisations. A few people have mentioned here their own
whistle-blowing websites, but if you'd like yours to be listed please
email me or post the address here.
The website will also include...

Divorce question by
James T
I'm pre-empting a possible separation and divorce this year, hence the
question.
As I've been married for approx 10 years I assume that she will be entitled
to/ ask for, half the equity of the house. Now as I've paid for all the
bills of the house (mortgage etc), is she still entitled to half? If (as I
suspect) she is, what opportunities do I have to minimise my losses?
Thanks
JT

Family dispute over property by
kim
There are 3 properties of which the parents owned. 1 property because of tax
reasons was put in the name of the eldest son of 3 brothers. The middle
son has lived in the property for over 7 years. Recently both parents have
died and the eldest son has put the property up for sale as he says the
house is in his name. We have been told the middle brother has sitting
tenant rights as he doesn't...

Romanians and Bulgarians as scapegoats of a shambled system by
Stelucia
Romanians and Bulgarians have been made scapegoats for the shambled
immigration system. They can travel free of visa in the Schengen area
so UK will be never their first choice. This detail has never been
told by British media.
Most of the immigrants who are coming in UK are originally from Muslim
countries, China and Africa but nobody has courage to tell it loudly
for fear being branded a...

A Force against authority? by
RayL
Hi :-)
Thanks for taking the time out to read this.
I have a problem with three authorities. Those being: Council Tax,
Housing benefits, and Housing.
FYI, each of these 'systems' refused to acknowledge I was unemployed and
each refused me any benefits, which has left me with debts.

Recorded delivery adequate for sending will to probate office? by
Robert
Is recorded delivery (now called "signed for" I think) considered
secure enough for sending an original will to the probate office?
If not, what method is reccommended for someone applying for probate
without the help of a solicitor?
Thanks
Robert

ISP Chasing debt by
Chris Allen
Two years ago my small business asked a large ISP to install
satellite broadband. The system was virtually unusable from
the day it was installed. Requests to their tech support department
for fixes were ignored, so we sent them (all by registered post):
- A polite letter asking them to make the system usable
- A letter demanding that they make the system usable within two
weeks or suffer...

Can an ongoing case be "re-litigated" ? by
Bloomin Heck
Is it possible to "re-litigate" a Case that is still
ongoing ?. I thought, but may be wrong, that you could only
"re-litigate" a case that had been concluded one way or other ?.
Thanks

Personal data by
Jane doe
I recently registered with a website just to enter a competition on it.
A few days later I did a Google search on my own name, and saw
an entry headed "Registration Manager" linking to
www.*****.co.uk/***/RegistrationManager which displayed my login name for
the site, my password, name , address and mobile phone number for the whole
world to see!
I rang the number on the website, and they said...

Year (or whatever) and a day by
Pat Winstanley
A friend asked today why there is an odd "and a day" tagged on to the
time between a decree nisi and a decree absolute... and many other old
laws for that matter; for instance a runaway serf taking refuge
undetected for a year and a day in a town and thus becoming a free(d)
man. I also seem to recall something like a year and a day for someone
dying after a fight (before that it's murder and...

Part-work publication with a missing part by
Jan Hyde
Wyl E Cyote 's wild thoughts were released on
Tue, 22 Jun 2004 10:10:08 +0100 bearing the following fruit:
I have collected all the parts except one of the Fabbri "Star Trek
Fact Files" (about 250 parts). My newsagent was unable to get the part
at the time of publication and was also unable to get it as a
back-issue.
What issue? I have quite a few and stopped collecting...

Part-work publication with a missing part by
Paul Roberts
I have collected all the parts except one of the Fabbri "Star Trek
Fact Files" (about 250 parts). My newsagent was unable to get the part
at the time of publication and was also unable to get it as a
back-issue.
He suggested that I should privately buy the part from the publisher's
back-issue service. I ordered the part and my cheque is cleared. But
the part has not been delivered...

The "fade" effect. by
Alasdair Baxter
A friend of mine, a journalist, who is not on Usenet has asked me to
post the following question on his behalf:
"A series of linked trials has been going on at Bristol Crown Court
for over four years. Because they are linked, the Judge imposed a
Section 4 (2) order under the Contempt of Court Act 1981 on reporting
at the outset, and despite a reporter quoting Beck, Horsham mags etc,
it remains...

Can I force an online vendor to remove my details from their database? by
peter
I had a dispute with an online retailer concerning misuse of my
personal information. I have made a complaint to the Information
Commissioner regarding this.
In the meantime I requested the vendor to remove my details from their
database, to eliminate the possibility of any further misuse.
After 4 weeks my details are still there, I can still log onto my
account at their site.
What right, if any,...

Cutting branches overhaning road verge. by
Michael Chare
AIUI if a branch from my neighbour's tree protrudes into my garden I may cut it,
but I must return the branch to my neighbour.
But if a branch from a tree on someone's property protrudes over their boundary
(fence) into a public highway may anyone cut it without the owners explicit
permission? So if for example the branches were over hanging the verge rather
than the road itself may anyone cut...

bought from ebay - stolen, perhaps? by
Lapchien
A few months ago I purchased (on behalf of a limited company who paid
for the goods) several PC's. We paid by cheque and the PC's were sold
for similar prices elsewhere. I also bought some more PC's from
various other ebay sellers. Since we are upgrading our IT the
original ebayer suggested I buy from him directly. So, we've bought a
dozen or so PC's and a few laptops. All paid by cheque,...
