Indemnify outgoing trustee by
GB
I am resigning as a trustee, to be replaced by someone else. Is it
reasonable for the deed of resignation to include an indemnity for the
outgoing trustee, and can anyone suggest some suitable wording please?

advice on pursuing debt by
Steve H
Hi all,
I'm looking for some advice on how to go about pusuing a debt of money
that I'm owed, please.
For background, I was a member of a 50-share lottery syndicate which
was wound up some 18 months ago. I still have not been paid my share
(which should amount to about 220 ukp). Having offered to help the
executor get matters wrapped up, various discrepencies came to light
and it began to look...

Why do they fix parking tickets to the vehicle? by
PeteM
Does anyone know why parking wardens fix penalty notices to the
offending vehicle, rather than posting them to the registered keeper
(who is liable to pay them)? I can think of lots of good reasons for
preferring the postal method tickets, and none for fixing them to the
vehicle.

law regarding seat belts in cars by
Derek Hornby
Hi all
Can anyone clarify law on the following:
1. If an adult passenger in a car, doesn't use his/her seat belt, who is the
one that gets fined, driver or passenger?
2. is the law regarding seat belts same for back seat passengers?
3. driver would be responsible for child passengers, is that correct?

Using an image from another website by
D.M. Procida
If someone takes an image fom my website and copies it for use on
theirs, that could be in breach of copyright. But what if instead of
copying it, they just use an img src="" tag? Then
they haven't copied it, they're just using it.
Are they entitled to this, and could I stop them?
I seem to recall some judgements in the past about dubious practices
where one website simply presented the...

Final Hearing in family law case (Children Act)
Is it reasonable to bring references to the final hearing in a Residency
Dispute, perhaps to counter gaps in the CAFCASS investigation?
Is permission necessary and if so should it be sought beforehand, or
requested during the hearing?

Commonlaw Law! by
Tracy
A friend moved in to the home of her boyfriend approximately 4 years
ago, with her two children. He has a variable-rate mortgage and it was never
arranged to have the house as a joint mortgage, i.e., its still in his name.
Sadly, the relationship has become rocky and the boyfriend has moved out to
give them all space.
He is feeling responsible for the split and has said that the girlfriend...

Traffic wardens/pictures by

Lets say that I know somewhere that traffic wardens (in an area where the
parking enforcement is run by a private company) regularly park on double
yellow lines to book cars. Would I be breaking any laws, or risking getting
myself into any trouble, if I where to be there and take pictures of this
happening and passing said pictures onto the council and the company
employing the traffic wardens. ...

Publishing photos of minors by
Stokefolk.com
Background:
I operate a website which involves a lot of photography, primarily at local
nightclubs and other such venues. I've had quite a bit of feedback on the
site asking why I don't cover more Under 18s events. As a result, I've
started advertising at local Under 18's club nights for volunteer 'reps' to
write up reviews of the events that I'm obviously unable to attend myself.
At the moment,...

Stateless Baby by
Alasdair Baxter
A baby was born in Leicester to an Englishman and a Cuban woman. The
child cannot have British citizenship because, although born in
Leicester, under UK law a child takes the citizenship of its father
only if the father is married to the mother.
Neither can the child in this case have Cuban citizenship becuase,
under Cuban law, Cuban citizens must be born in Cuba.
Surely, in the 21st century...

Hi,
Having noticed the earlier post of an article from the Ipswich Evening,
I mailed the URL to someone I know..
He stated that whilst the issue of 'an instance of a law designed to
inflict punishments
on people without letting them have a proper trial' was important, the
article
concerned was not good for the purpose of highlighting the issue (presumably

I have been watching the "Cracker" TV series on DVD lately.
Great show. But that made me wonder.
Do police profilers really play that role of primary importance in
some criminal investigations?
I understand that those are fictional stories and they just focus on
the main characters, of course, but the psychologyst's role stands out
anyway, it appears to be crucial in certain cases, as opposite to...
