referred to the Magistrates Court, who conducts the prosecution?
The Police or some other body?

False incompetency charge by
solinus
Being a conscientious aircraft engineer with more than 30 years
experience I was surprised when in his defence for not paying the
final invoice the president of the club concerned made three
allegations of incompetency against me to the court six months after I
had left the club. In the numerous e-mails/faxes I had written to the
club after I asked whether the quality of my work was at question...

Multiple accounts at single creditor by

Here's the scenario:
A owes money to B, on two separate accounts, 1 and 2. Account 1 has
been in existence for over a year, account 2 was set up recently
following a new transaction.
A has an existing credit agreement with B regarding account 1 whereby
the amount originally owed is being paid off in regular monthly
installments, but the amount on account 2 is due immediately as this

Directors/shareholders invoicing the company by
D.M. Procida
Is it OK for a director or shareholder to do some work for the company
and submit an invoice for the work?
Or is this the sign of some horrible fiddle at work?

Fixed Penalty Notice by
kkleelee
I received a fixed penalty notice for shop lifting does this now mean that i have a criminal record and if i was to apply for a job and did not disclose this could a company find out if they were to do a basic check. On the back off the penalty notice it does say that this is not an admission of guilt even if you pay the fine.

would be appreciated.
I have two parts to my complaint:
1. the advice given was wrong
2. the advice came after the IR deadline

Right To Privacy? by
s shephard
My neighbour has had a conservatory built along side the wall dividing her back garden from mine. In the process this brick wall (which was approximately 5" high) was taken down but only rebuilt to a height under her new conservatory windows. What is more these windows are clear glass and so she now looks directly out into my garden! The deeds do show that the wall is her responsibility but is it...

Factoring agreements - reassignment by
Andy Lord
Company 'Z' factors its invoices and sends out a standard assignment
letter to each new customer and each invoice has an assignment notice
on it.
The owner and sole director of Company Z, *telephones* all the
company's customers with outstanding debts and tells them that he's
reassigned the debts to the company, or cancelled the assignment if
you like. The debtors then pay Company Z direct as...

Liability for Public at Meetings in Public? by
bealoid
My Question: Who is liable for the behaviour of members of the public
at meetings to which the public has been invited, if a member of the
public punches someone?
Some background:
The Commission for Public and Patient Involvement in Health is set up
to allow people to have a say in how local health works. They do this
by having forums across the country. There are support organisations

Advertising for creditors by
bachgennewydd
I'm administering the estate of a deceased person and trying to decide
whether I need to advertise for creditors. Where this is deemed
necessary it is recommended (by books) that two ads be placed, one in
the London Gazette and one in a local paper. My local paper charges
over £200 compared with the Gazette's £48. Would the Gazette ad by
itself be sufficient to protect myself?

Impounding the cycles of dangerous cyclists by
Michael Hoffman
Recently as a pedestrian I was almost hit by someone cycling the wrong
way down the pavement of a poorly lit one-way street with no lights.
If I were hit, at the very least the person would have committed the
offence of careless cycling, while I would say that in this situation it
was indeed dangerous cycling. But neither these offences nor failing to
give name and address are indictable, so...

What is puzzling us is how the housing association obtained the names of

notices were served.
The only connection we can make is that the people sub-letting had each

Change of Name by Royal Warrant by

Normally people change their names by Deed Poll but I read at
http://anglicanhistory.org/scotland/ball_chinnery4.html of a case
where the change was by Royal Warrant. It is referred to elsewhere
http://www.londonancestor.com/newspaper/1882/0729/obituary-haldane.htm
as "Royal Licence". Despite the word "Scotland" in the link, it
refers to an English situation.
What is the procedure for changing...
